Tua Spa uses high intensity ultrasonic waves (known as elastic waves) that pass through water as a series of compressions and expansions of the water molecules.
These compressions and expansions cause alternating high and low pressure waves through the water which generate a phenomenon called 'cavitation': Microscopic vapour bubbles ('vacuum micro-bubbles') form within the water where pressure is low, then oscillate very fast and collapse under the pressure of the surrounding liquid forming a mist.
